This grant is for research studies that are based on a clear hypothesis and focus on diseases relevant to the mission of NIDDK. Applicants must complete all planning activities before applying, as planning is not covered by this grant opportunity. If planning is still needed, applicants can first apply for an implementation planning cooperative agreement (U34). It is strongly recommended to consult with NIDDK Scientific/Research Staff before submitting either a U34 or U01 application.
