This grant opportunity is a renewal of an existing cooperative agreement that supports key stakeholders in retail food safety in the U.S. Its goal is to work together to improve retail food safety practices to help reduce food-borne illnesses. The grant aims to advance food safety practices, conduct related research, and find ways to collaborate to decrease the risk factors for food-borne illnesses.

Competition will be limited to non-profit national organizations affiliated with one or more institutions of higher learning whose membership includes state, local, tribal and territorial regulatory personnel whose primary duties include retail food safety, as explicitly permitted by the grant-making provisions of FSMA (21 USC 399).
