Description

This grant supports state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) agencies in enhancing retail food safety programs to lower food-borne illness risks. The funding aims to help these agencies conduct research, implement prevention strategies, and perform activities that reduce food-borne illness occurrences. It also supports the development of a unified national food safety system.

Competition will be limited to non-profit national organizations affiliated with one or more institutions of higher learning whose membership includes state, local, tribal and territorial regulatory personnel whose primary duties include retail food safety, as explicitly permitted by the grant-making provisions of FSMA (21 USC 399).
