- Funder/program: NSF Engineering (CBET) – Nanoscale Interactions, within the Environmental Engineering and Sustainability cluster.
- Purpose: Support fundamental, quantitative research on how nanomaterials and nanosystems interact with biological systems and the environment, including quantum effects that drive observable and physiological changes.
- Example materials: 1D–3D nanostructures, nano–bio hybrids, dendrimers and micelles, quantum dots, and other nanoparticles.
