This grant opportunity supports research on the Earth's ancient sedimentary layers and fossil records to better understand environmental and evolutionary changes over geologic time. Projects that could be funded include studies on the evolution of life and ecosystems based on fossil and sediment data, geological processes and resources in Earth's sedimentary layers, dating and measuring historical geological events, and the study of sediment formation and movement throughout history.
