The Urban-State Traffic Engineering Program (U-STEP) is designed to address traffic operation and safety issues on primary roads within Iowa cities. All cities in Iowa can apply. Projects should focus on municipal extensions of primary roads and can be either spot improvements, targeting single locations, or linear improvements, covering two or more intersections.
