What this funds: Fundamental research that improves the scientific understanding of how fluids move and interact, using experiments, theory, and/or computation.
Example topic areas:
Turbulence and transition (including hypersonic boundary layers at Mach > 5), flow control, drag reduction; combined experiments and simulations are welcome.
Bio-fluid physics (biological and bio‑inspired flows with emphasis on flow physics).
