Description
The grant aims to strengthen Sierra Leone's public health system to better handle health threats. It focuses on enhancing skills in data, diagnostics, workforce, and institutions for early detection and response to infectious diseases. The initiative seeks to collaborate with partners to improve the country's capacity and leadership in health security, while gradually transferring responsibilities to the local government and National Public Health Agency.

The following categories of applicants are invited to apply:
- City or township governments
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- For profit organizations other than small businesses
- Unrestricted (i.e., open to any type of entity above), subject to any clarification in text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility"
- County governments
- Independent school districts
- State governments
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
- Private institutions of higher education
- Small businesses
- Special district governments
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
