Description
The Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program provides funding to U.S. higher education institutions and nonprofit research organizations to acquire or develop costly scientific instruments for research and training. This program supports the purchase or development of advanced equipment that is generally too expensive for other NSF programs. Institutions can request up to $4 million per proposal, with restrictions on the number of proposals per category:
