Description

Funding to help states and other eligible organizations implement and improve the national Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) system. The program supports the “One Driver — One License — One Record” standard by requiring states to:

  • Test applicants’ knowledge and skills before issuing a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) or CDL.
  • Keep complete, accurate driver history records for all CLP/CDL holders.
  • Impose driver disqualifications as required by regulations.
