Program structure and phase-specific eligibility: This K22 has two phases. Only NIH Intramural Programs may apply for and administer the mentored Phase I on behalf of intramural candidates. For the independent phase, the sponsoring institution must be a U.S. domestic public or private (nonprofit or for-profit) institution; Federal laboratories, including the NIH Intramural Programs, are not eligible to apply for the independent phase.
