Description

This grant opportunity supports small businesses in developing MATChS through a cooperative agreement. Projects should focus on creating tools and technologies for high-throughput automated processes that include on-line sensing, rapid data acquisition, and analysis to minimize manual work. Successful projects will lead to more widely available miniaturized automated tissue chip platforms that can be used in drug development and various biomedical research applications.

Eligibility

The following categories of applicants are invited to apply:

  • For-Profit Organizations: United States Small Business Concerns (SBCs) only (SBIR/STTR-eligible)
  • Joint Ventures that qualify as U.S. SBCs under SBA SBIR/STTR rules (each party must meet ownership criteria; <50% foreign participation in the JV)
  • U.S. SBCs majority-owned by multiple venture capital operating companies, hedge funds, or private equity firms (SBIR only; subject to SBA restrictions)
