WINDOWS ON THE UNIVERSE: THE ERA OF MULTI-MESSENGER ASTROPHYSICS

National Science Foundation

Description

Windows on the Universe—Multi-Messenger Astrophysics (WoU-MMA)

Purpose

  • Advance “multi-messenger” astrophysics by combining three kinds of cosmic signals: electromagnetic waves (light), high‑energy particles (e.g., neutrinos and cosmic rays), and gravitational waves.
  • Build capabilities and strengthen the synergy between observations and theory to study the universe in new, integrated ways.
