Description
The Biological Nutrient Removal Program (BNR) offers funding to publicly owned wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) to help them upgrade facilities for better nitrogen removal, aiming for an effluent concentration of 8 mg/l total nitrogen. This initiative seeks to enhance water quality, particularly in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Eligible applicants are local governments and publicly owned WWTPs. Applications are accepted annually from December to January.
