Description
The Orphan or Abandoned Well Plugging Program, established by Act 13 of 2012, provides funding to plug abandoned or orphaned oil and gas wells in Pennsylvania. Managed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through the Marcellus Legacy Fund, this initiative addresses health, safety, and environmental concerns by dealing with hundreds of thousands of wells drilled since 1859.
