Sponsoring organization requirement: Before submitting a fellowship application, the candidate must identify a sponsoring organization with on-site staff and facilities that provide a suitable environment for the proposed research training and that demonstrates a clear commitment to training in the candidate’s field. The sponsoring organization may be public or private (profit or nonprofit), including NIH Intramural Programs and other Federal laboratories.
