The Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction Reimbursement Program provides financial reimbursement to Tribal governments for costs associated with prosecuting non-Indians who commit specific crimes on tribal land. These crimes include assault against tribal justice personnel, child violence, dating violence, domestic violence, obstruction of justice, sexual violence, sex trafficking, stalking, and violations of protection orders.
The Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction Reimbursement Program reimburses Tribal governments for expenses incurred in exercising “Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction” (STCJ) over non-Indians who commit certain covered crimes (the term “covered crime” means: assault of Tribal justice personnel; …
