The Archaeology Program provides funding for archaeological research with a focus on its anthropological significance. There are no restrictions on geographic region, time period, theoretical orientation, or research type; applicants must justify the importance of their research within anthropology. Typical projects involve field research or the analysis of archaeological materials. The Program also supports the development of new analytic techniques beneficial to archaeology.
