This grant is for postdoctoral fellows with research or clinical doctoral degrees ready to move from mentored research roles to independent, tenure-track (or similar) faculty positions. It offers support from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to help them start independent research careers. Those working in cancer control, prevention, and data sciences are particularly encouraged to apply.

Program and organizational scope - Sponsoring/applicant institution for the K99 phase may be private (profit or nonprofit) or public, including NIH Intramural Programs and other Federal laboratories.
