This grant supports K12 programs to help clinician scientists become independent researchers in the field of substance use and substance use disorder research. It is available for scholars with doctorates, such as physicians, clinical psychologists, social workers, and pharmacists, providing support for 3-4 years. Scholars must dedicate 75% of their time to research and career development and can lead or participate in minimal risk clinical trials.

Organizational eligibility and restrictions: - The sponsoring/applicant institution must assure support and demonstrate appropriate institutional commitment (adequate staff, facilities, and educational resources) for the proposed K12 program.
