This grant opportunity aims to support projects that focus on improving and assessing measures related to brain and behavior that might serve as indicators of how drugs work in the body and affect mental processes. The goal is to develop tests based on brain systems and neuroscience, which will add value to preclinical animal studies. These studies are part of a larger effort to discover and test new treatments for mental illnesses by evaluating their impact on important brain mechanisms.
