Funding will support field campaigns in the Rocky Mountains to measure snow water equivalent (SWE) and soil moisture using mobile cosmic-ray sensors, compare burned and unburned landscapes across a full water year, and use the findings to improve snowmelt modeling by determining how meltwater splits between infiltration and direct runoff.
