Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Research on Social Disconnection and Late-Life Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviors

National Institutes of Health

Description

This grant opportunity is looking to fund research projects that explore how social disconnection can lead to an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in older adults, and how social integration may provide protection against these risks. Researchers can apply for support for early-stage, high-risk projects that do not yet have preliminary data.

This NOFO aims to support research identifying mechanisms by which social disconnection increases the risk of, and social integration protects against, suicidal thoughts and behaviors in late life. It invites R21 applications for high risk/high payoff projects that lack preliminary data.
